Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) launched into their innings with characteristic aggression despite early setbacks, as they sought another imposing total against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Hyderabad on Thursday.
LSG skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to field, putting SRH’s explosive opening duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma under immediate scrutiny.
However, their bid for a flying start was cut short in the third over when Shardul Thakur removed Abhishek for six, caught at square leg. Thakur struck again on the next delivery, dismissing Ishan Kishan—centurion from the previous game—for a first-ball duck, edging behind to Pant.
Head, unfazed by the early blows, kept up the attack and found support from Nitish Reddy. The pair steered SRH past 50 in just 29 balls, maintaining the team’s aggressive approach despite the setbacks.
LSG made one change, bringing in fit-again Avesh Khan in place of Shahbaz Ahmed. SRH are unchanged.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have clashed four times in IPL history, with LSG winning three matches and SRH securing just one victory.
